Orti dei Berici’s red onions are grown in the in the manufactory plant of Isola della Scala, in the countryside of Verona. Soils here are light and sandy, perfect for a product that is both pleasing to see and good to taste.

Our onions are exclusively non-GMO and grown only in Italy.

Treatment process

Once they are harvested, onions are first cleaned and their stems and residual soils are removed; then they’re carried to the processing center inside large chests. Here they get stored in large warehouses with artificial ventilation, which is able to preserve the products in an excellent state. On the other hand, the long term preservation takes place in cooled warehouses at the temperature of +1/2°C.

The onions are cleaned, their stems and roots are then removed and finally they are peeled. They are then measured using an automatic and manual selection system.

The products are delivered in food-safe plastic drums, submerged in preserving liquid.
